Power to Spare!

We did it! We drove down to Nova Sun Sytems on Thursday last (the second hottest day of the summer) picked up the new 135W panel and two 126 pound batteries and installed the new system on the hottest day of the summer so far - last Friday. We are really happy with the results. We have charged drill batteries, laptops and run lights galore with no appreciable drop in the batteries levels. The picture shows the line coming in from the solar panel to the controller (little black box on the wall). The controller shows a green light whenever it is charging, and will cut off the batteries from the panel if they are in danger (the batteries) of being overcharged. An inverter on the wall takes the power from the batteries and converts it to standard alternating current. We have a power bar plugged into the inverter and various extension cords going to parts of the cabin.
